Slovene composer, guitarist and pedagogue.
EDUCATION:
- Institute for Music and Ballet Education in Ljubljana: diploma in guitar (1976, class of Toma¾ ©egula),
- Academy of Music in Ljubljana: degree in composition (1986, class of Prof. Dane Škerl).
CAREER:
Employments:
- free-lance musician (1971-1974),
- guitar teacher at the Music School Moste-Polje in Ljubljana (1976 - 1994),
- teacher of solfeggio and jazz guitar at the Intermediate Music and Ballet School in Ljubljana (since 1992).
Functions:
- jury member at the Competition of Young Slovene Musicians (1997, 2000, 2003),
- jury member for the selection of songs representing Slovenia at the Eurovision Contest (2000, 2001).
AWARDS AND PRIZES:
- first prize of the experts' jury at the Slovene pop song contest, 1980,
- gold medal of SOKOJ for best arrangement at the festival Dnevi slovenske zabavne glasbe (Days of Slovene Light Music), 1981.
OUTPUT:
His compositions often show a combination of classical and light music approaches; he mainly writes for guitar.
